That’s my own personal iPhone you see there on the left: note where it says ‘Network’ (it’s also in the upper left-hand corner where it should be). I’ve tried numerous unlocking programs and almost all of them DO work if you’re persistent enough with them AND you’re very technically competent with computers (some of them require you to actually put in multiple lines of code by hand to your iPhone). How easy or difficult they are to use varies greatly, many of them won’t work with 3G/3Gs iPhones, some won’t work with the latest firmware update, etc. Currently the two primary ways of unlocking an iPhone are by doing it yourself with the ‘hacker’s method’ which is by using the Jailbreak software and latest RedSnow release (Google it for more info)–this is fine if you’re a technical person and are very competent with computers and gadgets, etc., but do be warned that it’s quite easy to accidentally ‘brick’ (’brick’=turning your iPhone into a very expensive paperweight, in other words: breaking it so it won’t ever work again) your iPhone with this method if you don’t do it right.
The method that I used for my own personal iPhone (above) to

unlock it and enable it to run on the T-Mobile network was to use iPhone Unlocking LTD’s program (click here to check it out), which is VERY ‘point-and-click’–it’s very much designed for everyone to be able to use, from computer to nerds to the most non-computer-saavy grandma’s. It’s probably the best choice for 98% of iPhone owners as it’s actually guaranteed (like, you get your money back if it doesn’t work, they buy you a new iPhone if their software ‘bricks’ yours) to work without damaging you iPhone, plus it works on EVERY type of iPhone (2, 3G, 3Gs, with the latest firmware updates, etc.). It’s just a |
simple program that you download and run AND it includes lifetime support and updates, so that when Apple updates the firmware you can get a free update from iPhone Unlocking that’ll allow your iPhone to continue working, so you’ll never have to worry about new firmware updates ‘bricking’ your iPhone.
I’m going to be posting a lot more info very shortly on how to use the Jailbreak software if you so choose, what to do if it goes wrong, how to deal with firmware updates (if you use the Jailbreak software instead of what I mentioned above), and just general iPhone info that you may find useful, not necessarily related to iPhone unlocking, so stay tuned, subscribe, bookmark me, etc. Have a good one and happy unlocking!
